McDougall-Hunt Baseline Housing Study
Bailey Park Neighborhood Development Corporation (BPNDC) empowers residents of Detroit’s McDougall-Hunt neighborhood, to use their voices and take action to revitalize their community. The neighborhood was once a main corridor of thriving Black-owned businesses in the city known as the Black Bottom. BPNDC works to create a revitalized McDougall-Hunt neighborhood with high-quality, affordable housing, sustainable, creative use of open spaces, and thriving commercial areas. BPNDC envisions a caring, cohesive community that supports inclusion, equity, and opportunity for all.
Jumi Consulting Group drafted a Baseline Housing Study to assess the need for affordable housing in the community. The study incorporated demographic information from the US Census Bureau, real estate trends, windshield surveys, and information from the neighborhood to affirm the need for more affordable housing in the community and recommended next steps for development.
